Met Monday ~Backyard Makeover~

Welcome to another Met Monday hosted by Susan at Between Naps on the Porch.

I am going to show you what we did to our backyard!

This is what our yard looked like when we bought our house.

We did not like our Gazebo, so we decided to get rid of it!  It just closed off the yard.

Here we are getting rid of the Gazebo!  No to worries someone took it.

It took 3 tow trucks to move it!

They took it down piece by piece!! Not a very easy task!

They are almost done!

The roof being put on the tow truck!

Bye Bye Gazebo!!!  It is now put back together in someone elses yard!

There was concrete where the Gazebo once lived.  Here's hubby using a jack hammer to get rid of the concrete!

That's me finishing it up!

Now look at the difference!

We had to till the yard!  Here's "E" and I putting down grass seed.

Now we are building our deck!  We put in french doors to make the sunroom brighter!

Building our new storage shed!

Look at my pretty grass and sitting area!  We also added the fence!

I have grass, a deck, and a tree house!

 Here is our yard finished!

The treehouse finished!

I hope you enjoyed your tour of our backyard!!!  We love being outside!

Please don't forget to visit Susan and see who else is participating this week in Met Monday!!!

Lori - at first I thought "getting rid of the gazebo - oh no!" But, now I totally see what you mean. The transofrmation is wonderful. I love that deck and what a change it has made. I'm sure you are enjoying it after all that hard work.

I shouldn't say that I envy you because that wouldn't be right to do---but what awesome french doors and what a great transformation. I had to laugh about the gazebo (hmm, did I spell that right?)--at the flylady.net (not dot com) she was mentioning this week that in all the places she has seen gazebos she has never seen any people in them. Once when she was on vacation she told her kids and grands that if they saw any one in a gazebo (not including themselves) she would give them a dollar for each time. They never saw anyone in them. ...always empty!

I am in awe of the transformation. I have gone back and looked at your before & after pictures several times. You not only took down the gazebo, but you rebuilt most of the back of your house, didn't you? If it isn't in a magazine, it needs to be. Are there pictures of the inside as well? And you ran a jackhammer. Wow.

Very impressive. I like so much, where to start? The French doors, the deck, and what a tree house!

WOW....huge difference and it looks so much better.

The gazebo was much too large for the area and you were right to remove it.

Love the big deck and the tree house is so cool. Always wanted a tree house!

How beautiful! Opened it right up. I love being outdoors too. In fact I'm having something similar (I'm calling it a pavillion, as it doesn't look like a gazebo) built in our side yard right now. I want a place to get out of the rain to read and such. But we have a deck as well that it meets up to. Great job!

Lori, this transformation is incredible. At first I couldn't figure out why you would want to get rid of that beautiful gazebo, but boy that was really the right choice. The french doors leading to your new deck are just gorgeous. Beautiful job, do you ever go inside?? Kathy

Hi Lori
I LOVED seeing how you transformed your yard. It looks wonderful. Just adding those beautiful french windows and losing the gazebo really made a difference. I love your deck too. I am sure you enjoy relaxing out there all the time. The tree house is every child's dream. I think the style of your house is lovely. Most english homes are just boring brick or stone. Thanks for the tour. I want your house!!
