~We have an orange room and it looks good~

I have transformed my daughter's bedroom at our beach place.  She wanted orange, so I said why not!!  Here are some before and after pictures!

The room was white and dirty.  The carpet was gross.

Notice the door with some sort of sticker on it?  It's also plain....

The folding closet doors with the ugly carpet.  The carpet had soooo many stains.

Big window, but boring!  We are going to get the big wood blinds.

We painted her room orange.  I had Lowes match the orange in her bedspread, and hung some curtains I got from "Smart Bargins.com"  The curtains match her bedspread as well.

Notice the hardwood floors?  My hubby put those down!  That cool lamp in the corner came from IKEA.

Another view!

We replaced the door! I think it looks so much better!

We also replaced the closet doors!  They are not the folding kind anymore!

This is her bed.  It's a platform bed.  I love the squares above her bed.  Those were easy to make.  We took foam, scrapbook paper, and brown ribbon and there you have some beatuiful art!

Here is a closer view of the art!!!

She loves her room and I really do as well.  I didn't know how the orange would look, but I think it looks great!  It took me 3 coats of paint!!!

I hope you enjoyed your tour of one of our bedrooms at our beach place!

I'm linking to a lot of parties this week!  Come join the fun.

I love this room! My daughter and I painted her room orange six years ago and then painted one wall four stripes of color. That was a nightmare! The room was amazing after it was completed.

The room is now Beluga Grey and my son's room! Ah, the power of paint.

btw... love the squares, what an amazing idea for low cost "art".

Hi Lori
Your daughters room looks beautiful. I love the wall art you did, the new doors and the cool lamp from IKEA. We have an IKEA nearby. They have some great stuff in there and it's not that expensive either.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Looks great! Our study is almost the same orange, we call it basketball orange. It's a very manly study right now with basketball pictures and stuff, but one day it will be another childrens room and even if we have a girl we don't want to repaint it. So it's nice to see a version of a girls room with the orange walls! Good job.
